PQ500™

Quantitative analysis of plasma proteins using the PQ500™ kit – precision proteomics for diagnostics and research

What is PQ500™ analysis?

In our specialized laboratory, we perform quantitative proteomic analysis of blood plasma using Biognosys ‘ PQ500™ reference peptide kit – a state-of-the-art targeted proteomics solution. Using this technology, we offer medical, scientific and pharmaceutical clients accurate, reproducible and quantitative analysis of selected human plasma proteins.

The PQ500™ kit consists of more than 800 stable isotopically labeled reference peptides (SIL) corresponding to approximately 582 plasma proteins. This makes it, one of the most comprehensive tools for quantitative analysis of plasma proteins. Each isotopically labeled peptide contains heavy amino acids (^13C/^15N) – Arg10 or Lys8 – that enable it to be unambiguously distinguished from naturally occurring endogenous peptides in the sample. This enables precise quantitative analysis of proteins by comparing the signal intensities of the two forms of peptides during LC-MS/MS analysis.

Key Benefits of PQ500™ Analysis:

  • Quantitative analysis of more than 500 human plasma proteins,

  • High repeatability and precision by using SIL as internal standards,

  • No interference with endogenous peptides,

  • Simultaneous analysis of multiple biomarkers in a single sample – ideal for population and clinical studies,

  • Ability to validate biomarkers for cancer, cardiovascular, inflammatory and neurodegenerative diseases.

PQ500™ applications in diagnostics and research

Targeted quantitative analysis of plasma proteins using PQ500™ is a breakthrough in modern medicine and translational research. Plasma, as a readily available biological material, reflects the physiological state of the body, making it possible:

  • Early detection of pathologies and subtle biochemical changes,

  • Monitor therapy and treatment effects in real time,

  • Create and validate biomarker panels for clinical and preclinical studies,

  • Conducting large cohort analyses in population-based studies,

  • Personalized medicine – for the described and FDA-approved biomarkers analyzed in the kit

With high sensitivity, specificity and the ability to analyze a large number of proteins simultaneously, this method surpasses traditional immunoassays in terms of accuracy and range of information.

PQ500

How does the PQ500™ analysis service work?

  1. Acceptance of plasma sample (EDTA) and preparation of material,

  2. Enrichment of samples SIL analogues at known concentrations,

  3. LC-MS/MS (MRM) analysis – detection of labeled and endogenous peptides,

  4. Quantitative analysis based on known SIL concentrations and their signal intensities relative to endogenous peptides,

  5. Generate a detailed report with the results of quantitative protein analysis.

Who is the PQ500™ analysis designed for?

The PQ500™ plasma protein analysis service is primarily aimed at scientists conducting research on biomarkers, chronic diseases, cancer, and inflammatory and neurodegenerative conditions. It is also ideal for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies that need reliable tools for biomarker validation, drug development or monitoring patient response to therapy.

The method will also benefit clinicians and laboratory diagnosticians looking for accurate, state-of-the-art technology for early diagnosis and disease risk assessment at the molecular level. The PQ500™ analysis will also be useful for organizers of population-based studies and biobanks, where analysis of large sets of samples with high reproducibility, comparability and consistency between batches is essential.
